cherry orchard : hügle cherries

The Hügle cherry was discovered over 70 years ago on the estate. Today, the Hügle cherry is still a primary focus of our cherry production.

The fruit is a Knorpelkirsche, which tastes good and is vitamin-rich. The size of the Hügle cherry is above-average as is the yield per hectare. Its vegetative growth is relatively quiet and the angle of extending branches is flat, which results in lower cut and care costs for the farm.

Too much precipitation during the maturation phase can result in the cherries bursting. While this bursting makes the fruit look less appealing, the exceptional taste and vitamin content are not affected.
